Stoned Ape is NSF Certified for Sport® (Popup)

Given the speed with which many dietary supplements enter the market, the lack of requirements that they be FDA approved, and reports indicating that some of these products don’t even contain the ingredients or quantities claimed on their labels, consumers have every reason to be wary when buying supplements. That’s why we made the conscious decision to put our own products put through the most rigorous testing protocols out there: National Sanitation Foundation (“NSF”) certification. For a supplement to become NSF certified, each ingredient in every batch must undergo extensive analytical and microbiological testing. Its label claims are evaluated annually, and its manufacturing facilities and even suppliers are subject to annual audits and unannounced plant inspections.

NSF certification is not merely a one-time stamp of approval, but an ongoing safety protocol that entails on-site inspections, testing and retesting to ensure that any product bearing the NSF mark meets the most demanding safety, accuracy and efficacy guidelines. In the event a product fails to meet any certification criteria, NSF will take actions to protect you, including product recalls and de-certifications. As this exhaustive process suggests, NSF certification is not only time consuming but also expensive--which is why most supplement companies simply avoid doing it. NSF International’s Certified for Sport® program helps athletes, dieticians, coaches and consumers make safer decisions when choosing sports supplements.

The Certified for Sport® certification is the only independent third-party certification program recognized by the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), Major League Baseball, the National Hockey League and the Canadian Football League. Certified for Sport® is also recommended by the NFL, NBA, PGA, LPGA, CCES, CPSDA, iNADO, Ironman, NASCAR, Taylor Hooton Foundation and many other organizations seeking to mitigate the risks of contaminated dietary supplements. There are numerous quality components of the Certified for Sport® certification program, which verifies that:

  • Products do not contain any of 280 substances banned by major athletic organizations
  • The contents of the supplement actually match what is printed on the label
  • There are no unsafe levels of contaminants in the tested products
  • The product is manufactured at a facility that is GMP registered and audited twice annually for quality and safety by NSF International
